Who should the Sabres target today?

Good morning! It's free agent Friday and we should be in for another exciting day of NHL transactions. With all of the buyouts that have taken place over the past week or so, it has only allowed for more free agents in the pool.

Darcy Regier specifically said that the Sabres are not looking to make a big splash in free agency.

"The focus is going to be on supporting this younger group, this younger core group. Certainly, you want good players, but you want players who are committed to being professionals, being examples, being contributors. Those are the most important characteristics and the most important things we can do organizationally to make sure we progress in the direction we need to go."

While it may be a busy day around the NHL, I'm not sure how much we should expect from the Sabres. I can see Buffalo making a couple of moves, but it will not be anything extreme or headlining. However, there are still many players out there that the Sabres could be interested in and could pursue.

Yesterday, I talked about former Sabres that could return and readers decided that Clarke MacArthur could be most likely out of that bunch to come back to Buffalo.

Today, I'm leaving it to you to list your top five players you'd like to see the Sabres sign via free agency.

I'm looking for Buffalo to acquire one or two forwards tomorrow. I don't want to see a big contract signing (see: Ville Leino), but I would like a couple short term deals with players that can help this team. Easier said than done.

So, in the comments, let me know which players you would like the Sabres to target.

As always, thank you for reading!
