Sharks hire John MacLean as assistant coach, Marcus Sorensen signs in SHL

The San Jose Sharks announced yesterday that John MacLean has been hired as an assistant coach.


MacLean has the majority of the last two decades as an assistant coach for various NHL teams and was most recently with the Arizona Coyotes. MacLean also played nearly 1200 career NHL games and spent 51 games with the Sharks during the 1997-98 season.

In other news, Marcus Sorensen has signed to play in Sweden. The forward had spent the last five years with the Sharks organization, playing 226 games with the team and scoring 31 goals and 64 points.
