After another dominate performance in Game 3, the Panthers have the rare opportunity for series sweep tonight in their crosshairs.

It seemed that the decision to sit Andersen woke the Canes up a bit, as they played well and generated some dangerous opportunities offensively in Game 3. Credit to them for keeping it close early on; however, once the Panthers found the twine, it seemed like Carolina began to unravel.

As Litter Box Cats recap:

The Florida Panthers will go for the sweep when they host the Carolina Hurricanes tonight at Amerant Bank Arena in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Final.

Florida scored five times in a 9:08 span of the third period to blow away the Hurricanes 6-2 in Game 3, leaving the visitors on the brink of elimination. Niko Mikkola and Aleksander Barkov lit the lamp twice, and Barkov and super sub Jesper Boqvist, who ignited the torrid run with a sensational goal 1:29 into the final frame, each finished with three points. Evan Rodrigues and Matthew Tkachuk contributed two assists apiece and Brad Marchand scored the other goal for the Panthers, who have won seven of their last eight games. Logan Stankoven had a goal and an assist for the Hurricanes, with both of his points coming on Carolina power plays. Sergei Bobrovsky leads the league with 11 postseason wins.”

The Cats game is like a fine-tuned machine right now. It’s awesome to watch. They will need to continue this way to finish the job tonight and head into the the Stanley Cup Finals.

Sounds like Mikkola and Greer should be good to go tonight, so that’s great news. Reinhart’s status appears to be questionable.

Keep playing how you have been, Cats. Let’s end this thing tonight!
