“The Cat can finish, plain and simple”
- Enzo (from the message board last night)

He sure can Enzo, he sure can.

I fought off the urge to use the cheeky “The Cat with the Hat” type header, and instead, kept it simple.

Good job for the 19-year old Debrincat, getting who notched his 1st of many hat-tricks in the NHL. He continues to defy odds with his size, as he’s done his entire life. It was great to see the "Cat" and the Hawks 3rd line explode like that.

The Hawks are flying with 30 goals in their last 7 games. Up next up are those pesky Predators tonight at 8 pm in my household (EST) and 7 pm for those in Chicago (CST).

As expected, acquiring Kyle Turris has been a great move for this Preds team. They are a cool 7-2 since injecting the skilled centre into their lineup. This team was already good, now we can look forward to them being even more deadly.

Filip Forsberg leads the Preds this year, who is filthy good. His line, which also includes Ryan Johanson and speedster Victor Arvidsson will be a handful for the Hawks.

The good news is that Coach Q did a great job limiting some minutes last night in that 7-3 blowout. Toews led forwards with 18+ mins, with Forsling pacing the D with 23+ mins.

Also, coupled with Chicago’s quick starts, the overall team defence has been noticeably better. Q will look to get the Forsling/Rutta pairing out as much as possible vs. the Preds top line, while Seabrook and Murphy (who have looked solid as a pair) will have to be at their sharpest with Nashville’s grit and skill in the bottom two lines.

I expect the same lineup tonight with Anton Forsberg in net.

Looking forward to seeing if the Hawks can continue their quick starts and keep this winning streak alive.

See ya out there!
