Yes, kudos to the third line for being productive - but I think we need to keep in mind that two of the primary assists on AdB's goals were by Schmaltz and Kane (PP) - two top-6ers.

Good eye.

He'll find himself in the top 6 soon enough.

Encouraging signs as of late, loving the 2nd line with 8-15-88. Schmaltz is flying once again after taking awhile to get going again after being banged around in the first couple of games. I still think the Toews line has to be better on a consistent basis. The Hawks team game is improving no doubt, and Debincrat does have a special gift. Pure goal scorers know where to be at the right time and 12 clearly does!!

Get ready for the Slew-foot special, starring PK Subban the gutless chump, even if he's a hell of a dude off the ice.

So now Kane gets fined, yet Malkin (who intentionally ran Crow) is out on the street clean. Does Sidney have pictures of Bettman in their orgies? And now you know why the back-to-back stinks even more.

Could not agree more (with myself) LOL and hopefully the Hawks are fired up for this game! Regardless of the final result, this is a measuring stick game against a truly Elite opponent. Preds have scored almost 4 goals a game with a PowerPlay % of over 30% since acquiring Kyle Turris so the Hawks cannot take penalties tonight. Curious to see how the defense pairings hold up against the Turris + Johansen lines and if Q will trust Franson to match up 5v5 vs either of those lines. Big test, go Hawks!!

The game is in the Blackhawks legs, no coasting tonight. I imagine the Preds are going to be very physical tonight so an early lead would be just what the team needs.

CC in net tonight?

Something else to keep in mind, Hawks have yet to play the Jets this year. They are doing well and Connor Hellebuyck seems to always play well against us.

Shuffling Panik and DCat doesnt seem like a horrible idea. I wouldnt think of it as a demotion for Panik though. He isnt scoring, but he's also not playing badly. Just cant get em' in right now.

Its nice to see him buzzing around the net, so hard to defend since he keeps moving to open space, not hiding out along the boards.

Is there any explanation as to why Ritchie didn't get fined? He did the exact same thing before Kane swung at him. Do you simply have to be a bigger d-bag and be the first one to do something crappy?

Ritchie's was a controlled slash on the leg pad. Should have been called, but not fined. Kane's was a big wind up that could have been very dangerous had it not only hit his stick, plus it was retaliatory.

Assuming that Franson stays with Keith, I can't imagine Q sheltering them from anyone. I think the forwards will have more to do with the outcome than the D. Considering Nash has the last change tonight, I am looking forward to seeing how our 4th holds up against their top two. You can't argue with how well Hayden is playing, and the other two seem to be playing very sound hockey.

Q has been deploying Franson with Keith in mostly offensive situations, but moving Seabs back with Keith in more defensive situations. Seabs has been splitting time with Keith and Murphy.

I get it, but at the end of the day, neither were around the play and both going to the bench. If Ritchie misses and hits Kane in the knee, its just as egregious, if not more so. Fine meathead plays regardless of intent, and you would have less of this nonsense going on in the first place. NHL and NFL discipline are fighting to see who can be the most ridiculous/inconsistent.

I think the biggest problem is that it didn't get called. Kane likely doesn't retaliate if the ref that is standing there calls it.

I think Kane retaliates no matter what. The fact that they weren't going to even call a penalty on Ritchie before Kane two handed him is really the problem in a nutshell. Players allowed to take unpenalized liberties all game long will eventually lead to possibly more dangerous retaliation.

They don't have a Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook or Marian Hossa, but they have quite the collection of young talent at forward with Schiefele, Laine, Ehlers, Connor, ect....

Hawks won the 1st Cup during the 2009-2010 season so Summer of 2009 he was signed as a UFA.
