A tale of two seasons, as Minnesota played a good chunk of it's year in first place, only to miss out on the playoffs and fall back into reality when injuries and inconsistencies struck. Over the past few years, they've begun amassing talent through the draft, with the likes of Granlund and Brodin, hoping to issue a new era into Minnesota Wild hockey one day.

"With the seventh overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Minnesota is proud to select, from Jokerit of the Finnish League (SM-liiga): Teuvo Teravainen."

Rail thin, Teuvo current clocks in at five-foot-eleven and 165 lbs. If it weren't for his diminutive size, this Finnish whiz would go a lot higher. His unreal skill has teams drooling at the thought of what he might be able to do for their team long term.

Teravainen possesses the best hands in the draft. Yes, you read that correctly. When the puck is on his stick, he uses it well to back off defenders for fear of that quick move to make them look silly. He has an uncanny ability to draw defenders into him before dishing it off with elite passing abilities. He also posses a very accurate shot with a quick release off of his stick.

Teravainen creates his own scoring chances regularly and makes those around him that much better for it. He can control the puck in a phone booth with slick hands, but has elite vision that some would say is off the charts. He sees the game, and controls the pace, slowing it down or speeding it up to his liking.

He's also a very good skater, with mobility in all directions. He uses his agility to spin off of others and move through seams, and can generate speed in full flight.

Teravainen is quite undersized, as is easy to see. He'll need to add considerable strength to compete against NHL defenses, and will likely require some size on a line for added protection.
