Florida already has a ton of talent coming through the system, and a coaching system that brings out the best in a rather limited roster. After a good run this year into the playoffs, Tallon has a lower pick to continue his stocking of the cupboards Chicago-style, but that doesn't stop him from swinging for the fences.

"With the twenty-third pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Florida is proud to select, from HC Slavia Praha: Tomas Hertl."

At almost six-foot-three and 200 lbs, Hertl is a massive forward prospect for 2012 with some real power potential. He's at his best when using his size and strength a long the boards and down low to take the puck to the net with authority.

A good skater with balance and straight line speed, Hertl has shown some good moves with his feet to get around defenders. However, he's slow out of the gate and lacks explosiveness in his strides at this point in time.

Offensively he keeps the game simple, going to the net and using his quick release looking for goals. He's a real presence around the net with quick hands in tight. He shows good vision when looking for a pass, but has more of a shooter's tendency.

Physically Hertl can be punishing. He has his head up most of the game and will run through opponents when an opportunity presents itself. He comes back hard and shows good two-way responsibility. Utilizing his reach, physical game and good positioning, he is an option on the PK at times, as well.

At times, Hertl can go through stretches of trying to do things on his own. As he calms down and continues to work on his team game, he should see an increase in production as his game evens out in consistency. For a team looking for a big strong power forward-type, Hertl just might be that guy.

Oh, and did I mention? Hertl can play both wing and center.
