Finally, finally Ottawa has figured out Tim Thomas.

Today's afternoon game was a long-time coming for the Ottawa Senators.

The Sens heading in, were winless in their last 11 against Tim Thomas, but had won their last 2 games, of course with Mike Brodeur in net.

Today Ottawa fans were treated with a dose of bad news and good news, prior to the game. We found out the red-hot Mike Brodeur was/is sick and that Elliott would start, which wasn't the most reassuring the news.

But then we found out Kuba would be returning to the line-up and replacing Alex Picard.

Thankfully the Ottawa Senators came flying out of the gates with the same energy from the past two games and it clearly caught Boston off guard.

Our captain Daniel Alfredsson jumped back to his scoring ways with a hat-trick, and Mike Fisher, who seems to be taking a break from scoring, decided to be Mr. Set-up all afternoon, assisting on 3 of the 5 goals, including two of Alfies.

In his return to action Kuba picked up a pair of assists and played one of his stronger games of the year.

And for the first time in awhile, Brian Elliott had a great performance, making 22 saves.

Hopefully Ottawa can maintain this momentum tomorrow when they play the powerhouse Blackhawks, and hopefully close the gap on the NE leading Buffalo Sabres.
