Jay Feaster couldn't land a big fish via trade at the NHL Draft, but that won't stop him from trying.

The Calgary Flames may still be interested in 21-year-old forward Tyler Seguin, according to Darren Dreger of TSN.

Dreger noted that while the Flames and Boston Bruins couldn't work something out for Seguin at the draft, the interest from Calgary's side was certainly there and still might be.

Personally I don't feel as though the Flames have the assets to get a trade for Seguin done, but I guess we'll find out in time.

With NHL free agency now open, teams are permitted to speak to unrestricted free agents.

One free agent who has reportedly caught the Flames' eye is 27-year-old center Tyler Bozak, according to TSN.

Even with the Flames selecting Sean Monahan in the draft, they understand that the center position needs to be upgraded and Bozak is apparently one of their targets.

Bozak is looking for a long-term deal that will pay him an annual salary somewhere in the neighborhood of $5 million per season.

That certainly seems a little rich, but Feaster tends to do whatever it takes to bring in a player he wants and, with the Flames having so much cap space, he may do just that.

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out over the next few days.

My thoughts on the trade that brought TJ Galiardi to Calgary.

Why the Flames should target Jonathan Blum.

I examine how Jay Feaster and the Flames fared in this year's draft.
