Bad luck to draw the Sabres now. They are doing their usual late season stretch to upset their fans and play well. Detroit will have to fight hard for this one. |

There was (a decade or so ago) a round table on players who get all their points once their team is out of the playoff picture and the pressure is down. People playing for jobs and points so many times, and Detroit has to treat every game like it’s their last chance. Could be a long night |

Berggren on the 2nd line tonight with Veleno and Raymond. Compher is up centering the top line wtih Kane and DeBrincat. Looks like Lyon is getting the start tonight. Wings gotta win this one... just get the dang win. |

If the Wings drop tonight’s contest it might be the beginning of Lalondes demise, and they are down 4-1 already. - Goalie Dad
Didn't even get to tune in yet and looks like I haven't missed much. Man |

FIRE LALONDE. This is pathetic these players have zero heart. Someone needs to draw them a heart or at least a pulse. Yzerman needs to shake up this mess. |

Lalonde looking more and more like Blashill back there. |

Pathetic. I had to turn this crap off. These players should be ashamed of the money they are being paid and supposedly in the playoff hunt to have a performance like that. Bring up Cossa. And edvinsson and mazur. Maybe the young guys can teach this group of losers some class. I at one time said we should resign some of these guys now I believe that cut the rope as fast as we can of this loser group. So sad. |

It's pretty clear at this point they don't deserve to make playoffs |

Jeremy Laura: Can Wings take flight against Buffalo and stop skid? - Jeremy Laura
The skid continues. The same long brown skid mark that seems to occur right around this time of every Red Wings season for the last several years. A great big hopeful buildup towards a playoff run, only to be followed by a big, runny, poopy kerplunk into the toilet. So sick of this crap. |

Yzerman may have some regrets not pulling the trigger at the trade deadline... this game was probably the last nail in the coffin in terms of making the playoffs... This losing streak is the low point of the season. Even more so than the losses they had in Sweden. LaLonde seems clueless on how to fix the problem. Just not effective as a NHL head coach. This team has the talent but not the will power, defensive structure, or discipline at this point. |

I turned it off less than two minutes into the game. They didn't come to play last night. I saw better work ethic on Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. |

Fire Lalonde...... I read the same crap about Lalonde as I did Blashill from the "experts".... its not him, the hell it isn't...Im not absolving the players, they need to look on the mirror as the majority of them are lifeless...but the coach provides nothing, no structure, no in game adjustment and for the love of sanity why can't this team show up at puck drop..... Lyon is burnt-out and while the d is horrid, it doesn't help that period 1 is a free for all in Detroits zone....fire Lalonde |

The thing is, the last 15 games of each season are basically the playoffs. The contenders are at the top of their game and this is the time of the year the bottom feeders play well because players are trying to earn contracts. Detroit is not yet built for this time of the year. Unlink Buffalo, who has seemed to get top 5 picks in most draft years over the past two decades, Detroit is much further away from coming out of the rebuild. They played well during the easiest part of the season (Jan through the trade deadline) but now the real hockey starts and we were lulled into believe Detroit was capable of competing at this level. They are not. They are better than last year, but they aren't built for this, nor will they be next year or the next. They're 4 to 5 years out yet.
