Thanks to an Islander’s loss, Detroit once again holds the final wildcard spot. Now, it’s time to take action. A 5 game losing streak has to end tonight to reignite the fans in what feels like a standings traffic jam.

Unfortunately, all stats are out the window right now as Detroit has seemed to be unable to find themselves or their game in a brutal stretch. The good news? We’ve seen the team return from a terrible overseas 2 game stand and turn it around. This is also an opportunity where the Red Wings won’t be playing a top contender to win it all. (Of course, AZ was a glaring exception over the past 4 and the Isles are pushing to punch a post season ticket)

There’s very little that can be said at this point. Either they will step on the ice and grab 2 points or they will scramble and leave many of us looking for answers.

Looking to all of you is never a let down. Put down your thoughts and what you feel like would be the game breaker at puck drop. Hopefully, a post game headline like “After losing 5, Wings come to life” or some sort of alliteration.

Again, thank you to every single one of you that has stopped by today! You make this blog happen and keep it running!
