We’ll rid you of Ben Chiarot for Zadorov. We’ll just grab Antti Tuomisto, Boston’s 1rst round pick and your 2025 2nd round pick along with it.

Hannifin and Linholm .....either one would be great to have.....but the COST!
And the Wings have Sieder and Raymond contracts due next year, which should take up around $13M...maybe more....probably more.
Hannifin: Who can you give back from our D???? Chiarot would be the one to go, but would they want him? Chiarot and a 1st. ? I advocated trading Walman for him earlier, but Walman is a keeper and on a VERY reasonable deal. Noah is a year younger and weighs 40 lbs more than Walman though.
AZ is in pursuit of Noah and has an abundance of young prospects and draft picks to spend. I think they get him. The clincher is if Noah would sign an extension there. If he won't....do the Wings have a shot? I no longer think so. He is from near Boston and the B's have an abundance of Cap next year and will let Gryz go and go after Noah. I think Noah holds out til FA.
Lindy: rumored he wants cover $9M, and his best shot at getting it is FA. He looks to be another rental this year unless you pony up 8 x $9M. Oh, and the 42 goal year he had Johnny Hockey and Matty Tkachuk on his wings. He will never have that again.

What about Hubby Doobie-Do???? Would Calgary eat $3M of his salary to trade him???
I think in another month they will gladly do that. But do the Wings want him til he is nearly 39????

We will not retain anything, but we’ll take Chiarot off your hands. So you’ll basically have Huberdeau at 6 per for 3 years, and then the cap will increase a lot so his salary won’t be an issue anymore.

It’ll cost you Willander though.

I've spoken to this a few times before, as have others. The only question that needs to be asked is: Are we viable contenders for the SCPO? If YES; What do we need to make a serious run? How deep into the SCPO can we go if we get what we need?

Ok, that was 3 questions. I'm not good at the Maths Seriously, this is ultimately going to be a decision based on how we look for the SCPO. If The Captain feels strongly, he's going to need to look at the business side as well; How will a 1 & Done SCPO impact the finamcials? Will it generate more in-flow to update/upgrade facilities/intangibles to draw interest from stud UFAs that will carry us deeper next season, and so on.

The biggest thing to help us right now, immediately, is G....followed very closely by a more stable D. Ghost is a keeper. Walman, Mo Sides....keepers. I'm still teetering about Petry, I like what he brings but he's showing his foilables more and more. I like Maatta, god stay-at-home kinda guy that distributes well on the attacking zone and gets dirty in the defensive zone. We need Eddy to pop. Wallinder & Tuimisto need to grow. But for now; would Hanafin be enough of a help to prevent high-value shots on net?

I watched Hanafin play in CAR, he "was" good. Still has those instincts. But it doesn't matter a hill of sugar beets if we keep crapping our pants at the defensive FO dot! Compher? Extend him. If nothing else, he becomes a stud 3/4 FO guy. Kasper's needing to grow, gonna take a while. Danielson's doing ok. Gonna take a while. Veleno's a beast no matter how you slice it. In 2 years, his game's completely changed. We need him. Ras has figured out what he can do. I liken him to a young high school kid growing into his body & becoming a stud athlete.

We have a VERY good team this year. Guys are contributing all over the place. But key areas are costing us games: G, D, and a potent C. That's my persinal Christmas (I'll say "Christmas" until I die...) wishlist.

I dont think cap goes up for at least 3 more years significantly. Bally shutting down, ESPN going all in on streaming and viewership looks to be down again. Bettman said a year ago January that the cap would go up several million, didn’t happen. Losing 220m from Bally and people that have to stream aren’t watching as much. ESPN just announced they’re clamping down (along with all Disney properties) on password sharing as well. AZ’s situation will be in flux for at least another 2 seasons (how long it takes to build a stadium) and players refused to go over 20% escrow. That’s part of what has teams upside down and dressing fewer players.

Well crap. Netflix I believe, tried "clamping down".....didn't work too well for them. I swear, this whole streaming thing is going to put a serious dent in television viewership. I imagine more crap like this is on the horizon. ESPN is going to tank if they go to straight streaming. May take a while, but it's gonna happen.

I'd THINK that the cap increase this year isn't going to be the straw that stirs the drink....would think $2-3m, but more increases going forward. Especially with all of the broadcast rights & costs still so unsettled...but I'm just guessing.

I don’t see a trade with Calgary happening. Right now I think Kane is realizing it’s buffalo or detroit. Florida doesn’t have the $$. If you were Kane, would you sign in buff over being reunited with debrincat on a top line?

At first, I wasn't sold on Kane coming to the Wings...He's older, coming off of a MAJOR surgery which has a very low success rate, etc... I just don't see him being a viable asset. That being said, we have no clue unless we actually sign him and see. I know he's working out, etc... so we can SEE some of what's going on, but we DON'T see what happens when the cameras turn off. Now, there's no reason to think that there wouldn't be some very stringent guidelines in the contract, insurance assessments, etc... SO, now..... Roll the dice and see what happens. Huge draw for Kane is playing with The Cat again, but that would change the construct of the 1st line, not that it's a big deal.

ALSO, saw that the player whose skate cut Johnson's throat was arrested for manslaughter. Think this would impact the NHL's decision to mandate?

Actually, Netflix got an almost 1 for 1 replacement. They are they ONLY profitable streaming service. Disney+ announced they hope to be profitable by the end of next year. So far 13billion lost on building it.

They also announced they’re cancelling more channels and rumors of a sale of ABC keep popping up. With ESPN, they’re paying 1.4 billion for NBA rights, that could go as high as 7.5b on a 10 year deal while NHL gets 330 M. That call was filled with embarrassing statements. All docs are online

If Disney doesn't start producing original content that people want to watch, they won't be turning things around anytime soon. As long as they continue to be focused exclusively on appeasing tiny segments of the population instead of making good movies, they'll continue to bleed value. They've already ruined a few very reliable franchises, so they're going to need to clean house if they want to get back on track.
