Habs don't want the scouts to die though, they want to move him for a decent return. |

Nobody is paying the QO for Meier. Whoever trades for him will either extend him or use him as a rental then flip him in the offseason. |

Not much to flip. If you don't extend him the QO then he becomes a UFA. He'd be nothing more than a rental.
Maybe you'd get a 5th round pick for a team that wanted to negotiate with him prior to July 1st |

You can qualify him then trade him. Literally what Calgary just did with Tkachuk. If someone went this route, they would absolutely get a decent return for him. People like Friedman have already said this is a possibility for a team like Toronto if they traded for Meier. |

Dosen't Monahan have a large enough body of work as a pro? By now everyone should know what he's capable of. Here, I will help you. Capable 3rd line center that can't stay healthy. Your welcome. |

Jaromir Jagr is being sought after as well He is still the best free agent available He will make a triumphant return to the NHL shortly |

Why do you write with ellipses like that? Why not just write a blog like a normal human being. Also proof read your stuff. |

So who's trading for him with no intention of giving him his QO? |

Meier would be worth more in a trade if a team could negotiate an extension with him that's lower than his QO.

You can, but you're assuming there's a large market for teams that want to pay him $10M for one year. I don't think that market exists. Maybe there's a team or two that is willing to do that but that's not going to drive is price very high. And if there are no takers than you're majorly SOL. |

A little lesson for you since you’re new.
Ek doesn’t proof read, use proper grammar, proper spelling or punctuation. He also has no real sources, makes poop up, and has absolutely no hockey knowledge.

No team is dying to give up first rounders and yet some idiot GM still does it. After Habs got a first plus for Chiarot all teams are asking for the moon. |
