That 4th line tonight was really impressive with Gagner and Smith. I'm guessing we'll be seeing it again. This was probably Smith's best game of the season. So good to see some secondary scoring tonight. I'm also noticing better overall team defense from this team. They had 20 blocked shots tonight. Ned was solid in net again tonight.
Agree with you Jeremy... special teams still need a lot of work. They won't be a playoff team without major improvements. That clean open ice hit that Erne did reminded me of Vlady Konstantinov.... great stuff !! |

Thank Jeremy!
These Wings are climbing back in the game for the win and now are looking more competitive than any time in the 5 past years! Mo-gobe a great one!als Sieder is doing the OT celly! Very modestly, by the way. He is gonna be a great one, fer sure! |

Why don’t you guys make it easier on yourselves and just win in regulation? All that extra work
The Wild wanted to see if they were missing something so they decided to blow a 3 goal lead tonight and win later. It’s overrated but you guys are coming up big under pressure.

Nice recap, Jeremy. Am in NC for Irish dance world & national qualifier competition, so was watching the NCAA FB games (U of M now, AL & GA earlier…) and had the Wings game going at the same time. Had several people watching the Wings over my shoulder whilst watching tha fooseball!! Many comments about Mo Sides & Raymond heard. Folks in NC are impressed, and I’m in ‘Canes Country!!!!!
Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like if 1 area gets strong, another weakens (d played well, and has been of late while special teams drops off…). The only way this team can truly improve is to get the whole package rolling simultaneously. Definitely a weakness that needs to be addressed. I’m not sure the fan-base can take much more of this OT hand-wringing! This game had it fair share of physicality, for sure. Smith, being feast-or-famine, seems to have had a full belly tonight; played the type of game we expect of him, chip in offensively while thrown his bulk around…and Erne decided his role involves throwing hands. The 4th line looked really strong tonight. Again, getting it all together will take some time. But I know that this team is growing, maturing, progressing.
Definitely brighter days ahead. For the Wings AND for you, Jeremy. Faith & strength, brother. |

No kidding!!! I’m not that old, but my ticker just can’t take much more of this.
No offense, but Toronto looks like a prime example of wasted money; $40m+ in 4 players and nothing much to show for it. Minny looked like they fell apart for about 3/4 of the game, then ignited. Great comeback. Would like to see the Wild/North Stars start clicking, I liked Guerin as a player…be nice to see it work for hime as a front-office guy. |

We need a 1C really bad. How about loaning us Larkin? I saw the game differently than you. We had the edge in the first but after going up 3-0 in the 2nd they dominated us. If the period was 2 min. longer, I think we would have been down 2.We put 22 SOG in the 3rd so we were better there. Both teams had chances to win in OT. I think it was an even game. |

I’d do that deal in, sayyyyy….15 years? But only for exhibition games. You’re welcome.
Was talking to a Wild fan, and watching parts of the game….I’ll admit taking liberties and assumptions too far, my friend! I’m still a Guerin fan!!!! |

I thought Smith played like he realizes his time is up to show why he belongs in the NHL.. hopefully he keeps it up as the squad can use what he brings.... its been fun to watch as wins pile up and the crowd is vocal and helping create a nice atmosphere at Little Ceasars... the confidence is getting better as more plays from the defensive zone have been controlled and executed as opposed to just giving the puck away.... Stevie must be proud of his picks and while he won't brag or say told you so, especially in the case of Mo, I'm glad he's getting satisfaction ... Let's Go Wings |
