Per a source, “The agent for Eichel is trying to broker a deal that would send Eichel and Sabres D Robert Hagg to LA for 4 players...

would be kinda funny if Danault was traded to BUF lololll

obviously I prefer him playing out west, so that we don't have to constantly hear about how he's shutting down the habs' forwards and how they shouldn't have let him go, but if he played for the Sabres I guess he wouldn't be that much of a nuisance lol.

besides I know it isn't happening, since Danault has a 10 team no-trade list and Buffalo is most definitely among them, but it would've been amusing considering he basically left MTL to play a bigger role, and now he'd be stuck in a poopty cluster(frank) of a team.

Yeah Denault is a terrific player. He’s a good fit in LA. Vilardi struggled when they tried him at top 6 so I think they slide him down to 3C so he can play against bottom 6 guys with Danault at 2C. Danault helps Kopitar by freeing up some of his D responsibility so he can go on offense more.

MB made lemonade outta lemons by getting Dvorak on a good contract and term. Dvorak can’t drive play much but if Drouin can play to his potential and be the catalyst then Dvorak will be good. Habs really need Drouin to do his thing now.

ideally the habs would've kept KK and still acquired Dvorak, but yeah it was a more than necessary move for sure. he might not be an elite 2C but his stats suggest he's a consistent player, which is never a bad thing, and perhaps his offensive production could go up a bit if he develops good chemistry with a couple of guys in MTL.

and yeah, having a Drouin on top of his game would be awesome for sure, and could significantly help the habs in notching a playoff spot.

Eichel + Hagg for Turcotte, Kupari, Brown?/Quick? (for the cap dump), Athanasiou

Cap is tricky and not sure it makes sense unless they are retaining some of Eichel.

Kempe-Eichel-Arvidsson
Iafallo-Kopitar-Vilardi
Moore-Danault-Andersson
Wagner-Lizotte-Lemieux

? Kind of poop on the wings, but that's a crazy 1-2-3
