Im not sure the use of cocaine has anything to do with pain relief. Cocaine use is rampant in most hockey leagues from the junior level right through to the NHL. Its a party drug and every road trip is a party. There is a reason they dont test for cocaine in the NHL, because 75% of the league would fail and there would be no one left to play. |

Bigger problem is NHL players "Fortnite" addiction. Just ask Phil Kessel. Maybe they're coked out while playing "Fortnite"? |

cocaine is definitely a performance enhancing drug (short term) |
|
|
|
Hopefully it does. You don’t want to see anyone develop a drug addiction, hockey players or otherwise. |

The Buffalo Bills lost to the Cocaine Cowboys two years in a row in the early 1990's.
Also, cocaine is a middle-class drug. It's expensive. I'm not talking that dirty crap they snort in rust-belt cities, I'm talking that nose-fire that feels like nothing when you snort it and flies you to the moon.
I've seen cocaine cut so much that it's basically crack, and I've watched people go nuts for it. So trust me, the NHL and all of celebrity lifestyle has a cocaine problem. |

In 2015 800 players (anonymous testing) tested positive of 2400 tested. Not a banned substance by NHL/NHLPA. https://www.nydailynews.c...e-tests-article-1.2387098 - Jlaura76
It doesn't say one third tested positive, it says 800 tests are looked at more closely for party drugs at random.
Still, the booger sugar can be a problem so hopefully treatment is encouraged. |

Legalize coke. It’ll probably happen in 20 years, anyway - in Canada, at least.
It’ll screw up the cartels - taking away their main source of cash. Making life a bit safer for those living in Mexico and Central/South America. It would also legitimize the economic aspect of coca farmers.
If coke is manufactured in labs, it’ll likely be a less dangerous product for consumers.
Then tax it like you’d tax booze, smokes and pot.
This’ll be one of the major planks in my campaign platform as I run for Prime Minister in a couple of months.

Cocaine has been used by NHL players since the 80s. Maybe even longer than that. Players used to abuse alcohol in the 70s and earlier. But I can recall seeing Grant Fuhr snorting more coke than Charlie Sheen when I tried to get his autograph outside Joe Louis Arena back in 1986. Those Oilers players were well known to party hard so obviously he wasn't the only one doing it. |

Yep. When they decriminalized hard drugs in Portugal usage decreased. Save money on cops, lawyers, judges and jails and treat it like a healthcare issue. And people should have the freedom to party with what they want to party with. Makes no sense that smokes and booze are legal and other things aren't.
Saying this as a former drinker, smoker and drug enthusiast who is straight edge now. |

I tested it 2 times when I was 22. It was f'n amazing. I was World Champion both those nights
And for that reason, I understood how important it was for me to never do it again...! |

No it's (frank)ing stupid if they were addicted to coke and it was hampering their play then they would suffer the consequences- cut, trade, whatever. If it has no effect on them (especially when done over the summer where its their right to do what they want for a change) then who cares |
