Surely, after posting this, I received some verification that McKee is not in the Phantoms plans…

Jay is one of the coolest, most interesting people I’ve ever met in the sport. I’ve known him for 25 years, and he is absolutely crazy intelligent, and no-nonsense when it comes to work ethic. And he’s a great communicator.

If you remember, he and Danny played on that Sabres team that probably should’ve won the Stanley Cup the year the Carolina Hurricanes won. A big reason they didn’t win was because Jay McKee and mother defenseman were hurt against the Hurricanes in the conference finals. And it wasn’t just his tough play or defensive abilities; it was his emotional lit, his leadership on the bench that the Sabres were lacking terribly when he went down.

Again, nothing’s official, but it appears like the Flyers are trying to get this done.
