After considering both the trade market and impending free agent goaltenders from other organizations, Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher announced on Wednesday that the team has re-signed veteran netminder Brian Elliott to a one-year, $2 million contract. Elliott will work in tandem with Carter Hart to start next season.

"Brian has played well for us the last two seasons. He is a proven, quality goaltender who competes and battles hard every time he has the net. We are excited to have him rejoin our team," Fletcher said in a statement.

Elliott has dealt with injuries in each of the last two seasons, but was healthy during the latter portion of the 2018-19 season. As a Flyer, Elliott has played in 69 games, posting a record of 34-22-8 with a 2.77 GAA, .908 save percentage and two shutouts. Although at far less than optimal health at the time, Elliott appeared in four games for the Flyers during the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

For his regular season NHL career, Elliott has a 225-139-43 record with a 2.48 GAA and a .912 save percentage. Elliott turned 34 on April 9.
