Gregor earns Silver with Canada at WHC, Hertl/Simek win Bronze with Czechia

Three players from the San Jose Sharks earned medals at this year’s World Hockey Championship, with Noah Gregor taking home Silver with Canada, while Tomas Hertl and Radim Simek earned Bronze with Czechia.


Canada fell to Finland in the gold medal game yesterday, with Gregor scoring two goals and three points in seven tournament games overall. Meanwhile, Czechia defeated the United States on the same day to claim Bronze, with Hertl scoring a goal and five points in the tournament overall and Simek managing two assists total. It marks the first time any of the three players have earned a medal at the tournament.


The Sharks also had six more players participating in the tournament. Thomas Bordeleau had two goals in eight games with the United States, Jaycob Megna had two assists and Strauss Mann posted an .888 save percentage in four games.

Rudolfs Balcers also had five points in seven games with Latvia, Joachim Blichfeld had six points in seven games with Denmark and Timo Meier had eight points in eight games with Switzerland.
