I am preparing my prediction/preview on the Stanley Cup final and I’m about 2/3 done, but there is a ton happening in the rumor world already today.

First off, the Colorado Avalanche have extended Brock Nelson for three years. This is a bit surprising, but not totally surprising. Going back to Lamoriello trading him to Colorado, I would almost bet dollar for dollar that Lou had some discussions with Joe Sakic to see if they’d be willing to extend Brock before this trade was made. I know a lot of Islanders fans weren’t very happy with Lou and how he handled things in the past few years, but one thing is, he takes care of his guys. That’s why many players extended with him… that’s why they love to play for him.

Secondly, lots of rumors are swirling today about Dallas Stars’ star Jason Robertson possibly being dealt for multiple picks. There is a lot of turmoil going on within Dallas right now. It is highly unlikely that Peter Deboer will be fired, but there are a lot of players on that team that are very unhappy with him. Jim Nill is not the kind of guy who would just fire Peter over a mutiny in the ranks. However, certain players, if they go too far; they could be moved out.

To be clear, I don’t know that this is the case with Jason Robertson. I’m just pointing out it is indeed curious that his name would suddenly be out there right now. And based on what’s going on elsewhere, this is a possibility.

What’s the buzz….
Who wants Jason and what would you be willing to give up?
