New Era With the Same People

As you know by now, I will admit when I'm wrong.

I was hearing that Joel Quenneville was on his way out. Contrary to what I was told, it looks like he is staying put.

John McDonough has come out of hiding to let the world know that he is keeping Stan Bowman and Joel Quenneville around for the 2018-19 season.

Soooooo… what do we think of that?

McDonough still believes they are the right guys for the job as the Hawks enter this new era and uphill battle from mediocrity. Despite him saying this, I do believe both will be on short leashes as the repeat of this season will not be an option next year.

Bowman will begin shaping his team for a rebound season this offseason. If he and Quenneville are going to remain with this team for the long haul, he will need to make every move and signing count. He will also need his core to better if they are going to turn it around.

The Hawks host the Blue again tonight in their last home game of the year. The Blues are 1 point out of the playoffs but have a game at hand on the Avalanche. They need this win tonight. Can the Hawks play the villain again?

The baby Hawks are playing Texas tonight. The ‘Hogs sit 5-points up on Milwaukee for the last playoff spot. They've been on a roll lately and could be really hitting their stride heading into the post-season.

Mathias From has been signed to a PTO by the club as well and will join them for this run. It will be a great chance for the organization to get a look at the 5th rounder from 2016.

That's all I have for now.

See ya out there!
