Offer sheet frenzy?
The NHL is a buiiz right now as rumored or circulating that there is at least one teams preparing a massive osheet for Bow Bryram. The Buffalo Sabres management has responded to questions quickly and by saying that they prepared for this. They have salary cap spave and they can make and anything work. They will match. They also insisting that they are not shopping the player, but are listening to the offers.
Crazy speculation out there is saying that they’re gonna be a 10-$122 million, one year offer sheet coming, and that would be an interesting twist for Sabres to handle. Buffalo has been very clear over the last couple years when they’re trading a player that they would like a players in return and not daft picks. So offer sheet is not a god answer for them.
I remember assembly situation to this one, when the Flyers and Rangers were both talping trade with Nashville regarding a Shea Weber. It went back back-and-forth through a couple days until the Flyers finally made a noffer sheet, protecting the player from going to their New York rivals. By making the offer sheet the flyers insured that Shea Weber would either be a Flyer or a Dallas Predator.
Of all the Ed SnIder moves I have ever seen, this had to be the “Ed Snidery-est.” Kind of brilliant when you think about it.
Right now, when it comes to trades, the teams I hear most involved are the St. Louis Blues and the tAmpaB ay Lightning… both of whom were relatively quiet…and suspiciously yesterday.
More to come on Ehlers…. Right now I’m hearing the Capitals as a good bet.
