San Jose Sharks: Thoughts On Marleau, Barracuda, Goaltending

More Marleau. This won’t go away, will it?

Apparently, the Rangers, Ducks and Kings are the teams he’d accept a trade to. That’s funny, considering the Rangers don’t have the cap space and the Ducks and Kings are California rivals. Sounds like a trade list designed to screw the general manager out of getting what he wants.

Nevertheless, the rumors continue.

Who would the Rangers, Ducks or Kings be willing to part with? San Jose already accidentally got Martin Jones from LA, Anaheim isn’t going to trade anyone of worth to the Sharks and the Rangers don’t have anyone of worth to send that can compensate for the cap hit they’re taking on.

Seems like an impossible list to me. Maybe Marleau wants to go to Edmonton to be reunited with Todd McLellan? Just kidding, no one wants to be reunited with Todd McLellan.

I would be shocked if Patrick Marleau was traded during the 2015-2016 season, and I don’t really care who is talking about the rumors.

What the hell is happening in San Jose right now?

The Sharks, by all accounts, aren’t a bad possession team. They aren’t even terrible at scoring. What they are terrible at, lately, is keeping that little black circle out of their own net.
I’m throwing the goaltending under the bus again.

How can I not? The sharks have won three of their last 11 games, and a pile of goals have been scored against – to the tune of 3.45 goals against per game. That’s pathetic. This team needs to start figuring out how to play hockey or they’re going to find themselves lumped into the X-amount of viewers watching the NHL playoffs on their flat-screen televisions.

San Jose Barracuda Thoughts

The Barracuda have been putrid.

The goaltending is almost a mirror image of the last 11 games for the San Jose Sharks. Michael Haley leads the team in scoring, playing in only six of the ‘Cuda’s nine games. As the big club’s depth gets exploited, the farm teams lack of talent is getting exposed.

The cupboards are extremely bare with NHL-ready talent. That’s not a good thing. Did the Sharks draft well in 2015? I’d like to think so, but that isn’t going to help them right now – and this is a team that was supposed to be built to win and have better depth heading into the season.
The Barracuda, right now, are a major disappointment.

What do you think Sharks fans? Is Marleau going anywhere? Thoughts on goalies? Barracuda?
