The 2023 NHL Trade Deadline is here, and the Vancouver Canucks have a few more hours to make some last-minute changes to their roster.

Players like Brock Boeser, J.T. Miller, Tyler Myers, Conor Garland, Kyle Burroughs, Collin Delia, and Christian Wolanin are a handful of players that have been discussed in the rumor mill, but we will find out shortly if they in fact will be moved.

The Canucks have been quite busy leading up to deadline day, as they have traded players like Bo Horvat, Luke Schenn, and Riley Stillman. With that, they have also acquired Filip Hronek, Anthony Beauvillier, Aatu Raty, Vitali Kravtsov, Josh Bloom, and plenty of draft picks. Yet, it seems likely that they are not done just yet.

Throughout the day, I will report any of the moves that the Canucks make in this piece. With that, I will also provide brief commentary in response to them.

Happy Trade Deadline Day! - MDR

Trade #1: Canucks trade Curtis Lazar to New Jersey Devils for 2024 fourth-round pick

Lazar was not a player who I expected to be dealt. After all, he just inked a three-year, $3 million ($1 million cap hit) just this past summer. However, with the Canucks retooling their roster, it makes sense that the fourth-line forward is on the move. Lazar will give the Devils more forward depth and physicality as they gear up for the playoffs. In 45 games as a Canuck, Lazar had three goals, two assists, 124 hits, and a minus-5 rating.
