So wait. Rutherford didn't want picks for Miller because he doesn't think they are rebuilding? Well I respect him choosing a direction. It might be the wrong one but I appreciate the direction.

I'm confused as well. Why is Rutherford dictating what the GM can do? Is his title a difference without distinction then?

The Canucks have been quite busy leading up to deadline day, as they have traded players like Bo Horvat, Luke Schenn, and Riley Stillman. With that, they have also acquired Filip Hronek, Anthony Beauvillier, Aatu Raty, Vitali Kravtsov, Josh Bloom, and plenty of draft picks. Yet, it seems likely that they are not done just yet.

Been some surgery done so far.

I'll surmise if VAN is in the Alex Turcotte conversation you can say goodbye to their remaining 1st round pick.

If the Quebec Nordiques/Colorado Avs deserve Joe Sakic after finishing last almost five straight years, even though he was a mid first rounder, the Canucks fans deserve great players.

If the Pens, the laughing stock of the league, deserve the greatest player who ever lived (Mario Lemieux) and Crosby…then the Canucks deserve Bedard.

Every year a crappy franchise gets a great young player!!

Unbelievable. After the Horvat trade I thought maybe this group were willing to turn a page and begin to build through the draft but nope its back to Benning era stupidity. We are a 27th place team, we should be accumulating as many draft picks as possible for eff sakes.
