Jonathan Drouin and Mike Hoffman who practiced in no contact jerseys yesterday were wearing regular jerseys today and we’ll know tomorrow morning if they are cleared to play. As for Brendan Gallagher, there is no change in his status and both David Savard and Sean Monahan are being evaluated daily for their upper and lower body injuries respectively.

As for the possibility of Slafkovsky going to the WJC, he said himself today that he hadn’t heard anything about going which is a good indication that it will not be happening. I’m good with that as long as he keeps being used in an offensive role. Martin St-Louis said in his media availability that with what they’re seeing from Slafkovsky, they want to see some continuity with him, I guess that settles the question and he’s going nowhere.

It was also announced today that Nick Suzuki is the Molson Cup recipient for the month of November and the Habs’ captain is oozing confidence. Ask how many goals his linemate Caufield was likely to get this season he replied: Cole? 50 for sure! We’ll try to get him to 50 this year, we’ll see!”. There’s no denying that this answer would have seemed highly unlikely last season, with the team playing a more defense-oriented style and Caufield looking like a shell of himself, what a difference a year makes!

Tomorrow, Philip Danault and the Los Angeles Kings will be in town. This promises to be a big challenge for the Habs as the Kings have a good 1-2 punch down the middle with Kopitar and their former center Danault. Los Angeles is currently standing 3rd in their division behind Las Vegas and Seattle. St-Louis has yet to confirm which goalie will man the net tomorrow, but I’d wager a few bucks on Jake Allen given his performance in the Seattle game on Tuesday.
