We said it often this season, Cayden Primeau’s confidence was wrecked while playing behind an ailing Canadiens team, but so far in these playoffs, he looks like he’s getting his groove back faster than Stella. Last night, he made 32 saves on 34 shots and the net is very much his for the Rocket now. Kevin Poulin had started the series, but Primeau has earned the number one role through inspired performances.

Jean-François Houle’s men nearly failed their assignment last night, they were less than a minute away from elimination when the “Paquette Rocket” tied things up at 2 to send both teams to overtime. It’s 31-year-old vet Gabriel Bourque who was the hero of the night though with the game winning goal with 9:49 to go in the first OT period.

We’ll know tomorrow who they’ll face in the 3rd round as Rochester and Utica are still battling it out for the privilege to take on Laval. The tickets are already on sale even though the schedule for round 3 isn’t even out yet, it should be quite the atmosphere at Place Bell…
