The Canadiens’ next game will take place on Monday afternoon in Arizona, but for now, the team is still in Chicago, and it held a practice this morning. These were the lines and pairings used:

(Dauphin alternating with Pezzetta)

So, after playing a good game and getting an assist on the power play on Thursday, Cole Caufield now finds himself on the 4th line, just like Ryan Poehling. Meanwhile, Rem Pitlick, a waiver pick-up is on the Canadiens’ 2nd line. At least, Ducharme seems to have come to terms with the fact that Alexander Romanov has improved and that he’s deserving of being on the 2nd pairing. After practice, Ducharme said he was confident that Anderson was ready to return. As for Tyler Toffoli, the coach says that he’s nearing a return and he could join the team either in Vegas or Colorado. In Montreal, a few players are skating and out of the Covid protocol such as Byron, Belzile, Harvey-Pinard and Ylonen and they should rejoin the team soon. In net, we can expect Montembeault and Primeau to split the action of the upcoming back-to-back in Arizona Monday and in Dallas on Tuesday.
According to Eric Engels and Pierre Lebrun, the Canadiens are now in the second round of the interviews in their General Manager search, and they are now looking at 3 or 4 candidates, some of the discarded candidates could land other roles with the team. Right now, Mathieu Darche, Daniel Brière and Kent Hugues are rumored to still be in the running.

Donc, après avoir joué un bon match et amassé une passe sur le jeu de puissance jeudi, Cole Caufield se retrouve sur la 4e ligne, tout comme Ryan Poehling. Meanwhile, Rem Pitlick, obtenu par le biais du ballotage, se retrouve sur la 2e ligne du CH. Au moins, Ducharme semble avoir compris qu’Alexander Romanov s’est amélioré et qu’il mérite d’être sur la 2e paire. Après la pratique, Ducharme a dit qu’il est confiant que Josh Anderson soit en mesure de revenir au jeu lundi. Quant à Tyler Toffoli, l’entraîneur dit qu’il se rapproche d’un retour et qu’il pourrait joindre l’alignement à Végas ou au Colorado. À Montréal, quelques joueurs sont sortis du protocole de la Covid et patine au complexe d’entraînement de l’équipe comme Paul Byron, Rafael Harvey-Pinard, Alex Belzile et Jesse Ylonen et ils devraient rejoindre l’équipe bientôt. Dans le filet, on peut s’attendre à ce que Montembeault et Primeau se partage la tâche lors des deux matchs en deux soirs qui se tiendront lundi en Arizona et mardi à Dallas.
Selon Eric Engels et Pierre Lebrun, les Canadiens sont maintenant dans la 2e ronde des entrevues dans leur recherche pour un nouveau Directeur-Gérant, et la liste de candidats aurait été réduite à 3 ou 4 personnes. De plus, certains des candidats écartés pourraient se déniché un autre poste avec l’équipe. Pour l’instant, Mathieu Darche, Daniel Brière et Kent Hugues seraient toujours dans la course selon les rumeurs.
