The Blackhawks kick off December with a 3-game road trip starting in D.C. against the Capitals this evening then weekend games in New York to face the Rangers and Islanders. The Hawks come back home for one game versus the Rangers before hitting the road again to Montreal and Toronto.

Dylan Strome on the trade market isn't a surprise as he's been there since the preseason. However, Henrik Borgstrom as a trade target is a bit surprising. While his stats aren't there yet, he's increasingly proving to be an impact player that Chicago can build around.

On the one hand, other teams are always free to inquire about a player even if they're not available. But on the other hand, Borgstrom is one of the few players such as Dominik Kubalik who could fetch a decent return on futures (high-end prospect or draft pick) without sweeteners.

The fact of the matter is that the Hawks are open to shopping Borgstrom due to his lack of production. My take is that it's too early to deem him a bust. He may not be a PPG 1st liner but he could be a dependable 3-zone middle 6 forward who can produce at 0.50 PPG or better.

While none of the players involved in this trade between the Prince Albert Raiders and Edmonton Oil Kings are Blackhawks prospects, it may have an impact on Chicago's 2021 1st round pick Nolan Allan. Prior to this trade, Allan was playing 2nd D pair for Prince Albert.

Kaiden Guhle was playing 1st pair but is now departed which could provide Allan with the opportunity to play on the top duo. With 18 games played so far, Allan already has set career highs in assists (8) and points (10) while still locking it down as a shutdown defender.
