Everywhere you look, you can see someone wearing the Bleu,Blanc, Rouge, around the Bell Centre, small Stanley Cups have been drawn on the sidewalks, the crowd gathers behind the hockey Mecca hours before puck drop, it feels like after a long pandemic slumber, the city is once again awake and rocking to the rhythm of its darling Canadiens.
Montreal doesn’t care that the Habs lost the first 2 games in Tampa Bay, its spirits aren’t dampened in the least, and the fans expect big things from their Habs tonight. It’s not even 7:00 PM yet, there’s over an hour left to puck drop and the crowd is already coming in, no one wants to meet a second of the big show. Diane Bibaud is currently warming her fingers up, playing an organ version of “On Jase de Toi” a bit hit in Québec in the 1990s and those who know the song are humming along...Yes, even in the press box.
As for the game, Ducharme has already stated that there will not be any line-up changes for the Habs and Cooper has confirmed that Alex Killorn will be missing the game. The Canadiens will be hoping to play a similar game to the one they played on Wednesday, but to get a better result. To do so, they’ll have to find their scoring touch and there’s no doubt whatsoever that the 3 500 fans in attendance will do their very best to help them do so. Enjoy the game tonight Habs fans, and remember, it takes 4 wins to claim the Cup, this series is by no means over yet.
