The kids are alright indeed. Eeli Tolvanen buried a beautiful chance a minute an d a half into overtime to give the Predators a 3-2 overtime win over the Dallas Stars last night at Bridgestone Arena. “Making it six” never felt so good as the Predators continue the tear they have been on in their ascent to the four spot in the Central Division.

While Tolvanen kept his scoring streak going, the real star of the night was Juuse Saros. After gaining 3rd star of the week honors from the NHL last week, Saros returned to the net and posted another gem.

Dallas took the Predators off their game last night with aggressive forechecking and some interesting behind the play action that rocked Nashville back a bit until the team settled down for a third period comeback and some overtime heroics.

The Preds remain in the four spot, tied in points with the Blackhawks and only three points ahead of Columbus who both posted impressive wins last night. The battle for the last playoff spot is far from over.

Nashville is back in action tomorrow night as they finish off the series with the Stars. It’s a 7pm puck drop in Smashville.

The Preds trail Carolina by 10 points Tampa and Florida by 11 points for higher playoff positioning and their playoff chances are up to 31.1% after last night’s win.

-Eeli for Calder - Tolvanen posted a goal and an assist last night to push him to third in the rookie goal scoring race and solidify his late run as a potential Calder Trophy candidate.

- Opening Up - More fans are able to attend games now and the front row seats are now available. Glass seats are open around the rink except for right behind the player benches and penalty boxes.

- Bizarre Stat - Courtesy of the professor, Pete Weber… since February of 2020… the Buffalo Bills have more wins than the Buffalo Sabres… ouch.
