The Preds are 4-12-1 against Tampa, Carolina, and Florida. They are 15-6 against the rest of the Central. Poile needs to be selling at the trade deadline, period! This is not a legitimate cup contending team. I’d be shopping the hell out of Ellis, Granlund, Haula, and others.

You know Poile better than that. If the Preds are anywhere close to sniffing a playoff spot at the deadline he won't be selling... We can only hope he doesn't try to make a desperation move to put the team 'over the hump'. The Preds will probably manage to be just mediocre enough that Hynes will keep his job, and no significant changes will be made.

When guys like Joey, Duchene, and Ellis go down and your terrible team suddenly becomes competitive... If that's not enough for Poile to recognize that he needs to reevaluate his approach, I don't know what will.

I don't know but this team oddly seems to get a little bit better every time somebody goes down. I'm have no idea how to analyze this other than wondering what this says about the Preds opening day roster.
