Marc Bergevin didn't waste any time (well aside from that interview with Julie Snyder which just made everyone uneasy), he managed to ink Joel Edmundson to a 4 years deal which will count for $3.5 M against the Habs cap hit.
This is a longer deal than what I would have liked, but it's pretty much what I thought it would be money wise. For me, this is another good move by Bergevin and I'm looking forward to see what he'll do now to bring help up front.
Cap Friendly reports that the contract includes a modified no trade clause, meaning that Edmundson can submit a 10 teams list he cannot be traded to. This does not mean that he couldn't be picked by the Kraken at the expansion draft.

Marc Bergevin n'a pas perdu de temps (à part pour son entrevue malaisante avec Julie Snyder), il a réussi à signer Joel Edmundson pour 4 ans avec un impact de 3.5$ M par année sur la masse salariale.
C'est un contrat plus long que ce que j'aurais aimé, mais c'est pas mal ce que je prévoyais côté montant d'argent. Pour moi, il s'agit d'un autre bon coup pour Marc Bergevin et j'ai bien hâte de voir ce qu'il fera maintenant pour aller chercher de l'aide à l'attaque.
Selon Cap Friendly, le contrat inclus une clause de non mouvement modifié, à savoir qu'Edmundson soumet une liste de 10 équipes auxquelles il ne peut être échangé. Cela ne signifie pas par contre qu'il ne pourrait pas être sélectionné par le Kraken au repêchage d'expansion.
