The Carolina Hurricanes have re-signed President and General Manager Don Waddell to a three-year extension. After being named interim general manager in March 2018, Waddell was a finalist for the GM of the Year Award in just his first season as general manager of the Hurricanes last year.

Waddell had been interviewing for the Minnesota Wild’s vacant general manager spot and this deal secures his services in Carolina for the coming years. Before joining the Hurricanes, Waddell held roles as assistant general manager in Detroit in 1997-98 and was the Atlanta Thrashers’ first general manager.
