Assuming they don't trade it away as you stated...

Yeah, can't help but feel they'll give it a go to move up.

It probably does, Poile is in a really tough spot.

That's what I'm thinking, also. As much as I want Weber on the Flyers, I would like to see them draft in the first round for 2 years in a row.

If they would trade JVR, I kind of like P.A. Parenteau as a possible replacement. I just have a feeling JVR is being moved for something, just not sure what.

Is Tervainen that good? I know the Flyers aren't opposed to going against the grain when drafting. When JVR was drafted, I do recall a lot of reports had Turris going ahead of him.

You may have to get in the top 6 to land Teuvo Teräväinen. I don't want any major moves, tweaks and picks is it.

Speaking of tweaks, I actually hope the Flyers show patience with Bourdon. I believe he has the skill set to be an effective 2nd pairing d-man. He made plenty of mistakes last year, but still he is only 22. I think he falls into the category of the grasser is always greener on the other side.

I agree. I think he can be effective also...he showed great flashes last year.

But that head though....

Just because Im curious, realistically what do you think the highest pick we could get for JVR is? Maybe the 6th from the Wild?

Random thought of day - I just had the best Italian hoagie. South Jersey, Croces off 70. Leaves Primos standing naked with a cold breeze.

Dont know why we would trade JVR for a high pick. Are there other 20 somethings with his size speed? If yes, what teams are trading them?

Hockey writing and credibility are often oceans apart, no matter which North American country the writer is from. Heck, Mexican hockey journalists could be the best for all we know.

Thanks, I do think Lava likes him for two reasons. First, he got over16 minutes of ice time during the season and even a suprise to me is that he started game 1 of the playoffs, I thought for sure they would have started the veteran Kubina over him.

He'll be under control as a RFA for a few more seasons, so he can really help the cap situation.

My concern with the trade proposal is from the Jets end. Of course, I'm not a Jets fan, but with Enstrom being an UFA after next season and Bogosian being under contract for two more years, I think it is going to be very hard to get him. Not impossible, but probably an overpayment of JVR +.

The Jets could be in an interesting position with Evander Kane, too.

Supposedly he is not willing to talk deal with Winnipeg, according to RDS' Ren Lavoie. Maybe the Jets would be interested in JvR in case they are forced to move Kane.

Bill according to Brian Huddle it seems the London Knights are trying hard to land Oscar Dansk to replace Michael Houser since as you mentioned he prefers the smaller style rinks do you think he'll opt to play in the OHL?

I find that more plausible because Bogosian is signed through this year and RFA the following year. I'm starting to wonder if the organization's view of JVR has started to changed with the emergence of the young guys in particular.

In a cryptic way with Homer's press release on JVR about his health, I felt he was saying player in good condition make an offer.

It's possible that he's trying to shop JvR...from reading the rumormongers, they either love JvR and see him as Giroux's Reggie Leach or they can't wait to have him gone.

If they move him it again would be puzzling why they suddenly fall out of love with a player just after a lengthy contract extension.

I think that stuff has to be taken with a grain of salt. Players and agents know the situation with Richards and Carter, or at least there can be a plausible excuse in those situations.

I see your point, but until Richards and Carter that was not the case - Kimmo, Hartnell, Gagne (1 yr left on contract). I think the big variable to the whole team is the removal of Pronger to career ending injury. Certainly, the organization thought they would have a top pairing d-man for at least the next 4 years and they could build their cap around knowing Pronger would be entrenched for many years to come.

With the emergence of Schenn, Simmonds, Coots, and Voracek suddenly JVR becomes a pretty important chip to either a) be a top line winger to build around for years to comes as G's sidekick b) move for finanical flexibility as well as acquring assets to improve the club to compliment the young core of G, Coots, and probably Schenn.

Either way, it is going to be an interesting couple of weeks.
