"The only exception to the bridge rule is Alex Pietrangelo who will sign a 7-8 year contract for upwards of $7.5-$8 million per season."
No way has this dude earned Weber money. If the Blues offer that contract, they deserve to be flamed by every poster on this site. |

It isn't happening. If you believe the reports from June, his agent was asking for $7M-ish. There is no way Army has been dragging this out all summer to give the guy more money than he was originally asking for. It will likely be 8/$50-52M or 2/$8-9M, and will likely be wrapped up before the boys hit the ice Thursday at noon CT. |

Kadri deal is a cap space bargain for Leafs. But there's no way a strong half season earns a long term big money deal, and I bet Kadri knew this all along. He was probably asking $4.25 for 2 years. A fair deal in my mind is $3.5 for 2 years. This young man has matured greatly and I can only guess that Dallas Eakins has a lot to do with it. At the end of the day I think the Leafs get a bargain. Kadri gets a lot of money(compared to us regular Joe's) and the pressure to be near a point-per-game player is removed. Lets be serious. Look at the last 3-4 full seasons and see how many point-per-game players exist. That's very rare. Kadri give us 50 points this year. Goals or assists, you've got the talent. You've worked on the D end of the game - as all junior superstars have to do eventually.(Tavares was a floater in Oshawa because that's how they won games, but in the NHL the play is much stronger. Tavares is now a beast. No penalty killing, but not in any way a defensive liability.) side note, Tavares was traded to London Knights for a huge memorial cup run. Later Kadri was traded from Kitchener(where I lived) to London Knights for a mem cup run. Well Kitchener and an unexpected Jeff Skinner eliminated the crap out of London that year.(Skinner was the only 50G CHL scorer that year and was never expected to be a star, got drafted 6th overall.) |

The Kadri deal definitely helps Buffalo's position. |
