Nick Kypreos tweeted that Leafs center Nazem Kadri will be at training camp on Thursday.

Like a bridge over troubled waters...

Kadri will be signing a two year deal for a little less than $6 million total. $ 2.9 million oer season to be exact. last September, the Sabres signed RFA center Tyler Ennis for 2 years at $2,812,5000 per season.

Guess how much Cody Hodgson is going to sign for?

The Leafs have $4.9 million in available cap space. They had two RFAs before tonight.

Toronto RFA Cody Franson is still unsigned. They now have $3.2 million remaining after the the Kadri deal. The Leafs have also invited former Canucks winger Mason Raymond to their training camp.

Kadri wanted $5M-$6M per season for six seasons.

Sabres center Cody Hodgson is one one only a handful or remaining unsigned RFAs that includes Derek Stepan, Jared Cowan, and Alex Pietrangelo.

I expect Hodgson's deal to be announced on Wednesday or Thursday. Likely for 2 years and $6 million.

Stepan agent said Tuesday that his signing is "not imminent". The two sides remain far apart in their negotiations. Stepan wants $4.5-$4.7M million per season for 4 seasons. Rangers are offering a bridge deal.

Cowan will sign a bridge deal shortly.

The only exception to the bridge rule is Alex Pietrangelo who will sign a 7-8 year contract for upwards of $7.5-$8 million per season.

The Sabres have invited 61 players to their 2013 training camp, including three free agents.
This camp may well end up being the most physical, ultra-competitive training camps in the 42 year history of the team. There are several roster spots that are up for grabs.

The kids, fresh off their impressive second place finish (3-1 record) at the Traverse City Prospects Tournament will be fighting the veterans for roster spots. Girgensons, Larsson, Ristolainen, Armia, Zadorov, and Baptiste will be competing so that they can make the Buffalo opening night roster. Those that don't make the Buffalo roster will earn featured roles in Rochester.

I'm happy for Justin Bailey, and all of the youngsters for the invitations to training camp. Bailey committed to doing the hard work after he was drafted in the second round of the June entry draft. He was a standout at Sabres prospects camp in July.

Bailey is living the dream right now. The Williamsville, NY native has had several pinch-me moments thus far in his career. He's about to get another boost when he competes against NHLers in exhibition games this month. He'll be a better player for the Kitchener Rangers this season for having attended the Traverse City experience and Sabres training camp.

Justin scored two goals in four games at Traverse City. He took 6 shots and was +2.

I'm equally as happy for Nick Baptiste, the Sudbury Wolves product, who was the second overall leading scorer at the Traverse City tourney. Baptiste was the overall 69th pick and he has been a breath of fresh air for the Sabres this summer. he scored two goals for the victorious Team Blue at the annual Sabres Blue and Gold scrimmage in July.

Baptiste scored 4 goals and added 3 assists in 4 games at Traverse City. he took 12 shots and was =5.

I have to say that I LOVE the invitation that has been extended to tough guy Colton Gillies.

The 6'4 210 pounder loves to play heavy hockey and he's never too shy to fight

If he doesn't make the Buffalo roster, he'd add grit to Rochester's roster.

Think Cody McCormick.

Gillies was Minnesota's 1st round pick in 2007 (16th overall)
