You tell me! I don't follow either team, but I've never heard anything to the contrary other than fan conjecture. I know what's been said about him here by the organization and the media and it's all been positive. He's helped mentor some of the kids and voluntarily traveled with the team after his season ending injury. Not one negative thing has been reported about his locker room presence or his character in Minne.

Nobody said the guy doesn't have an ego. Last time I checked the majority of professional athletes now days are egotistical individuals. Doesn't make him a bad locker room guy. Whatever your opinion is it doesn't matter. I'm pretty sure he wont' be seeking employment in Edmonton nor will Edmonton seek out his services, so it's most likely a moot point as far as Oiler fans are concerned.

id be uncomfortable with streit over 4.5 for anything over 2 years (which is prob what he'll want)

if we don't net another guy via trade, he'd be a decent consolation prize.

Why would Streit turn down 4.75 mill from the Islanders and accept 5 mill from a Canadian team where the higher taxes will the extra 250 k + more? If Edmonton wants to sign him it would need to be higher than that and I say (frank) that. He's not close to being worth 5.5 +

Also there will be some surprises in the top 10. Always are.

Cant believe Button has Ristolainen at 25, LAzar at 32, Zykov at 37 and others not even top 75. Man he sucks.

I could accept the others depending on your view, but (frank)ing a...Ristolainen just messed the WJC's up and is a 6'3 physical beast...

To the many who commented on me not being sure Nichuskin is top 10...

-"Hype" is nothing, saying hell even go top 10 regardless because someone will trade up if he slips makes no sense. He is obviously a top talent, if he slips past 5 (to me, anyway), there's no telling how far hell slip. He has "media hype", yes. If teams cared about media hype, they'd fire their scouting staffs and just watch TV and come on sites like this.

-My comment is based on the fact that he REFUSES to play in the AHL. I'm going to guess that has to put a sour taste in at least 1/3 of the leauges mouth. Add in the fact that he's Russian and hell be in the KHL instead (if he's cut), that's a red flag for the ENTIRE leauge whether any of you want to admit it or not. It's not an issue if he makes the team. But NHL teams do not want another Zherdev, Radulov or Filatov. Him being cut and back in the KHL increases this risk.


Just my rationale for anyone that's curious. Talent wise, if he falls below 4 it's a joke. But this is something every NHL team is aware of whether any of you like it or not. How relevant it is in this particular instance is anyone's guess.

Nuts when you think a similar guy in Lindholm basically exploded up the charts to 6th.


Also agree with the Nichushkin stuff. People keep saying he's 100% going to NA, but aren't reading it right. He's 100% committed to the NHL, not NA, he'll never go to the CHL or AHL to develop and that 5 mil check in Moscow is waiting for the disappointing news that he didn't make the NHL at 19.
