Richard Cloutier: Mock Draft! Mock Draft! Mock Draft! (The Hype Williams Blog) - Maxbone
I will continue what I have said all along.Bo Horvat is directly in MacT's crosshairs for obvious reasons.Plays 200ft of ice, terrific penalty killer, interchangeable between 2nd and 3rd line. And what MacT like about him most is his compete level. Having the 2013 1st rounder play right away is not important to MacT. |

Why not trade Omark to NY Isles for Streit at the draft and have the extra couple days to sign him before he hits the market? |

you can sign streit for free, he's all yours |

I would only offer Streit 2 years 5 mill max. Although its reported he wants 3 years 5.5. I sure as (frank) hope we don't give it to him |

Ok. So as I've said multiple times (and nobody listens to me) TRY and make a trade involving whoever for an early second round pick and draft Fucale if he's still around. If not, then draft Tristan Jarry. Give either about a year or two and I guarantee that they will be NHL ready. I've watched Jarry play and he is sensational. But hey, what do I know? |

Agreed! 2 years for old expensive vets like streit as odds are the (frank)er will be equivalent to shytney healthwise and games played... no thanks |

Goalies take too (frank)ing long to develop... there are plenty of vets in the league... |

If all options are gone then take nurse... He will likely be better than Jones in 3 years anyway... or... unlike Clouts if anything we should be trading up in the draft if there is a player we absolutely must have... |

Agreed. If Monahan is gone by the time it's our turn to pick then draft Horvat. As much as I like Nurse, it's might be unwise to draft a dman. Horvat plays a different game than all our previous picks.
On a side note, how about those playoff points?? Unreal. |

Don't know how we'd trade up but if there's any ideas from anyone on this blog then please share. Plus the only player we REALLY need is Jones. |

- I keep hearing Ryan Miller to the Oilers rumors, but I wish people would stop talking. The Sabres are going to want so much for this guy, and he's only got a season left on his deal. He also has an NTC where he can name eight teams he won't go to. You think the Oilers might be on that list? Perhaps. Let this one go, people. - Maxbone
What second rate website did you steal this from.
Stop making poop up. Try giving credit to the whatever website or radio bradcast
- I keep hearing Luongo to the Islanders for Rick Dipietro, who will be bought out immediately by the Canucks. So to answer the question if Luongo has a trade value... - Maxbone
You mean you keep reading blogs, newspaper articles and listened to the CBC hot stove. |

I'd be interested. Goalies aren't our #1 concern right now but I wouldn't mind getting him. He didn't really have much help infront of him on his last team. It'd be the same situation here but come this summer the defence problem should be close to being fixed. |

Exactly. Our local paper who covers the team pretty much put a nail in that one. DP will be playing in the minors or brought out it looks like unless Vancouver wants a third rd pick or less for Luongo along with DP's contract. We need his cap hit believe it or not to reach the floor unless Luongo's takes its place though as reported by Staple(Newsday) we aren't giving up anything to get it. |

Why wouldn't you be interested in Jonathan Bernier? |

- Miller - I agree, price will be too high for a 1 season contract
- Loungo for Dipietro - As sad as it may seem this might be what it takes to move him, one bad contract for another, NYI get a good goalie with a very bad contract and Van gets a contract that is cheaper to buy out the Loungo's.
- Streit - At 5 mil he is too overpaid, if you could count on him to shutdown the opponents top line each night as well, then sure pay him but he isn't that player. The Oilers have had too many bad contracts over the years, no need to add another one.
- I do agree that Klefbom will be better served to play a year in the AHL but i we go with a defensive group of Streit, Belov, Petry, J.Shultz, Smid and N.Shultz we are in for a long season. That group as a whole is very very week defensively.
- Craig Button - $%^#$ Next!!!
- If we don't trade our 7th in a deal for a NHL player that will help us I don't see any issue in using it and drafting Nurse. I know we have a bunch in the system but we don't know who\when they will make it to the big show and if they will end up being a top 1-2, 3-4 or bottom pairing dman. You can never have too many possible bluechip dmen.
- We don't need to pick up a goalie like Smith, Backstrom, etc. If the Oilers at all think Dubynk could be their guy, he has 1 year left on his contract, they find some backup (Emery) and give Dubnyk the full work load of a starter and see if he can handle it, none of this splitting time stuff. |

Because "it doesn't make sense to trade for a backup goalie when they can just sign one"
Seriously, that's why |

Bring in Dave Tippet and Dubnuk will win 40 games next year. Bring in Danny Heatley after his buyout to help in the room with the Kids, and maybe Wade Redden, problem solved, for cheap. |
