Columbus Blue Jackets: David Clarkson Done For The Year |

It's been a nightmare season for both David Clarkson and the Columbus Blue Jackets, so naturally a marriage between the two hasn't started well.
Just a few games after being acquired by the Blue Jackets, Clarkson suffered an injury that will presumably keep him out of the lineup for the rest of the season.
Clarkson had no points, two shots and 14 penalty minutes in three games for the Jackets, so his loss won't be felt too hard in the immediate future. Still, it has to be tough for a guy who desperately wanted a fresh start to be shelved for the rest of the year before he really got started in Columbus.
As disappointing as the injury has to be for Clarkson, it may not be all that bad. This will give Clarkson a long off-season to reset, and it also clears up more minutes for the Jackets to give legitimate minutes to their young players - notably Alex Wennberg + Marko Dano - and see how far along they are in their development as well as what they may be capable of going forward.
There is a positive in every negative, they say.
