There is a bit of controversy today over the NHL's decision not to issue any supplementary discipline -- either a fine or suspension hearing -- to New York Rangers' defenseman for an elbow to the jaw of Pittsburgh Penguins sniper James Neal.

In my own opinion, this was absolutely NOT a play worthy of supplementary discipline. Del Zotto had his back turned to Neal, and Neal was crouched down as he came in. Was it worthy of a two-minute penalty? Yes. Worthy of a fine or suspension? No.
