The Arizona Republic is reporting that the game one of the Predators / Coyotes series will begin Friday in Glendale. No confirmation on this report yet, but it does make sense. It allows the Eastern Conference to finish their quarter-finals on Thursday. This will also ensure there are no “dark” days, game will be held on every day.

The Predators took yesterday off, they return to the ice today with an 11am practice at Centennial Sportsplex. It is expected that the next round schedule will be finalized right after tonight’s game seven between Boston and Washington. The Predators continue to quietly and confidently continue their preparations for the conference semi-finals.

Random Notes…

- Congratulations to David Poile on his third consecutive nomination for GM of the Year.

- Pekka Rinne has made the Sweet Sixteen in the NHL13 Cover Voting. Next round of voting opens on May 3.

- James Mirtle has a nice piece in yesterday’s Globe and Mail about a changing of the guard in the Western Conference

- Give Ottawa coach Paul MacLean huge credit, sitting Daniel Alfredsson and Jason Spezza at a critical point in their game six on Monday, the top power play unit was not producing and MacLean did what a coach is supposed to do. Good on ya!

- Congratulations to UHC Dynamo Moscow on winning the Gargarin Cup.

- Roberto Luongo, when asked, said he would waive his no trade clause. Considering how poorly he’s been treated in Vancouver I am not surprised.

- Hmmm… Toronto as a destination for Luongo… that makes no sense. Sure, he would give the Maple Leafs a key piece, but if the media in Vancouver is a pain, what will happen amongst the media horde in the TO.

- Note to the Panther’s CEO… in case you don’t know… other folks can read your Twitter.
