Kind of comical seeing the reactions of each GM as they didn't win the lottery yesterday, Jim Nill might have had the best reaction

The flyers are in a great situation to do a rebuild the right way here. A group of potential core guys are still young in Provy, Sanheim, Farabee, Frost, TK, Myers, Alison, Frost, York, and most importantly the future goalie is young. Hopefully Seattle takes JVR, do what you can to get rid of Jake (take a worse player back like an Okposo or something, with hopefully less term), and approach Giroux about waiving the NMC, get his list. Biggest piece is trade Couturier this off-season, he is the only player on the roster outside of Provorov that can land us a huge return. Will probably suck for a couple years but then hopefully some of those young guys will step up and we can fill in the blanks as we see what the roster looks like.

You know that's not going to happen, zero chance actually, whether I think it should happen or not, it's just not going to.

Haha he gets one right every once in a while. You honestly see a path forward with this roster that ends up us being a contender? I think it’s time for major change, I don’t think a retool of a few guys in and out fixes this.

I'd love for Giroux to waive his NMC and go home to Ottawa, for picks and prospects. Also, I also agree with your assessment of getting Voracek out of here sooner than later, but as I said, I just don't see Dave Scott letting that happen.

No way. You keep the holy trinity intact. Couturier has earned an 8 year 9 per deal. Giroux has earned the right to stay for 5 more years at 5 per. You cant replace Jakes production. why on earth would you want to move on from that group? Hopefully Ghost doesn't get claimed in the ED as he is also needed.

Bill, Talking about prospects, I understand Filip Lindberg will become a UFA in July. Do you know if the Flyers have any interest? With their question marks in goal it seems to me like a no brainer to pursue him with an ELC. He was quite impressive for the past 3 seasons at Umass.

Coutourier needs to be on board to approve the team so they can sign him.

I would definitely shop him though, maybe someone close would overpay for a rental.

Or maybe a team sees him as the missing piece and only wants him for 1 year instead of over paying on a 7 year deal.

As long as he is willing to extend, the Flyers priority should be to re-sign Couturier. He would be an exceptionally hard player to adequately replace. If he wants to test the market, it's a different story. It seems a percentage of Flyers fans are dying to turn the Flyers into the Buffalo Sabres, drafting at or near the top and yet going nowhere forward.

Flyers don't need anything but time and a high end defenseman

Flyers won't be a team with a $10M, $11M, or $12M player, but if you look around the league, the teams going deep in the playoffs and winning championships aren't built that way

Speaking of Buffalo I’d trade coots (now not when he was 23) for cozens straight up. What say you?

Are we any different than Buffalo? Yes, we every other year make the playoffs but have not accomplished anything in a decade. Yes buffalo is pathetic but we are just mediocre. Not a huge difference.

Apparently Carey Price is the first player in NHL history to win a PO series w/ AAV 10M+.
