1) The 2021 NHL Draft Lottery played out almost exactly by the statistical probabilities. Every team but two -- the Seattle Kraken moving up from third to second, the Anaheim Ducks moving down from second to third -- stayed put with the default selection spots they took into the lottery. The Buffalo Sabres will pick first, most likely taking University of Michigan defenseman Owen Power unless they trade the pick for more immediate help on a struggling NHL-level roster.

In the Flyers' case, that means they will pick 13th in the first round. Beyond Power, draft ratings are all over the place. Players who potentially could be available in the Flyers' range include Under-18 World Championships standout Mason McTavish, USHL forwards Cole Sillinger (son of Flyers alum Mike Sillinger) or Matthew Coronato, Swedish forwards Fabian Lysell or William Eklund (a 2002 late birthday player), or University of Michigan center Kent Johnson or falling Finnish center Aatu Räty (who had once being considered a top 3 prospect for this year's Draft).

"Our scouts are confident there will be a wide array of good players available to us at that [13th] pick," Flyers general manager said to Zack Hill shortly after the lottery.

2) The Flyers organization released a statement yesterday on the passing of Donna Ashbee, who passed away at age 82 on May 31: "The Flyers are saddened to hear of the passing of Donna Ashbee, the late wife of Barry Ashbee, Flyers Hall of Fame defenseman and one of six Flyers to have their number retired by the organization. Donna exemplified what it meant for the Philadelphia Flyers to be a true family and was a driving force in helping form the Flyers Wives Carnival. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their children, Dan and Heather, and the entire Ashbee family."

3) Quick update on the Flyers Alumni vs. Flyers Warriors Showcase Game on June 27 at Ice Works in Aston, PA: A limited number of additional VIP tickets have been made available after the initial allotment sold out within a few days. General admission tickets remain more readily available. VIP tickets, which include a post-game reception with the attending Flyers Alumni as well as a private viewing area during the game cost $100. General admission tickets are $20. To purchase, click here.

4) Today in Flyers History: On June 3, 2019, the Flyers acquired the rights to impending unrestricted free agent center Kevin Hayes from the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for a 2019 fifth-round pick (Isaiah Saville).
