Hains: A Huge Win Overshadowed by a Big Loss
The Habs took the first game with a 5-3 win, but lost Jake Evans thanks to a vicious hit to the head courtesy of Mark Scheifele. - Karine Hains
yeah, don't feel like going "wooo", but still really glad about the win...

I hope he can come back later in the series but getting 100% is the key, wonder who will take his spot next game, isn’t Tatar and Lekhonen still injured? Maybe Belzille? |

That was the worst hit I have seen in my hockey fandom. Should be suspended rest of the playoffs and start of next season. Horrific hit |

For those who say it was a clean hit? Look at the rotation Evans did... Like he was clotheslined and turned inside out. It's basic physics and momentum. |

It was contact to the head, principal point of contact. Likely a game or two. |

Every bad hit against a Hab this year got a fine, at best. I'm not expecting miracles. |

Because he rotated it makes it more dirty?
220 pound guy going full speed in a straight line hits a 180 pound guy who turned right into his path. Is it still dirty if he gets there a half step earlier and prevents the goal, or would it be a great hustle?

If it was straight body contact, he'd go either full on back or down. When there's high contact with follow through, the hitter becomes a fulcrum for rotational momentum. Do you need a diagram? |
