It's never a dull game when Doc is calling it. He's one of the best. I'm glad he's still going strong at 74. Quality person. Quality play by play guy. Great sense of humour too. 👍

He is a quality person. In terms of personality, Emrick reminds me of the late Ernie Harwell. Both people treat you the same whether you are a janitor or a CEO.

You know Ernie as well. In the 1960s and 1970s, you could ride your bike up after 7 p.m. on any street in Southeastern Michigan and hear Ernie's voice coming out of garages or open windows. By the way, Ernie was Mike Emrick's hand-picked adviser when he earned his doctorate degree.

What was so great about Ernie is that you could be doing anything while listening to his broadcast and feel like you were right there at the game. It's like he was telling a story and whether the Tigers won or lost, you felt better after listening to Ernie for a few hours. Doc is like that too.
