You know Ernie as well. In the 1960s and 1970s, you could ride your bike up after 7 p.m. on any street in Southeastern Michigan and hear Ernie's voice coming out of garages or open windows. By the way, Ernie was Mike Emrick's hand-picked adviser when he earned his doctorate degree.

What was so great about Ernie is that you could be doing anything while listening to his broadcast and feel like you were right there at the game. It's like he was telling a story and whether the Tigers won or lost, you felt better after listening to Ernie for a few hours. Doc is like that too.
