Like always it really depends on who and what... A bread man type talent for sure... But I think the trade deadline getting Djoos, Milano and Danton really squashed the need for free agency

If someone falls into their lap, then ok, but I don't want Barstool Bob getting into a bidding war in an attempt to make the playoffs. Management made some unfortunate decisions regarding refunds for cancelled games to season ticket holders so there will probably be plenty of good seats available whenever the Ducks start playing again anyway. They might as well let the kids play and see what they've got.

Shouldn't close the door on anything. Yes you have some good prospects in the system, but if you can ink a good UFA at a decent value, allowing you to trade current rostered players for picks, why not go that route? Gudbranson or Manson could both attract some attention, especially if some cap is retained. Getz 50% retained at the deadline could fetch a very serious haul as well.

I just wouldn't close the door on UFA's.

Yeah I wasn’t happy about that seat thing...
Especially being an original owner since 93... Def pissed me off...

The variable seat pricing was an idiotic idea to begin with. To have it come back to bite them in the butt was ironic. The fact that the 20% "bonus" covered the difference between the average price and the actual price of the tickets was also ironic. I know quite a few people who took the cash refund and left. I might have considered it but my boys live going to the games soooooo much and my wife hates being moved around if the Ducks make the playoffs, so I'm pretty much stuck.

I'm willing to give them a pass on this because they've been really good owners...

I think what really bothered me most was the execution and then the backtrack / lame rationale once it went to Hell. But they def heard about it from me and more than a few season ticket holders that I know.

In the end, I agree. Technically, we got our money back plus the 20% bonus. It was a nightmare trying to explain what was going on to my math-challenged wife. Her company pays for our tickets but she had no idea about the variable pricing scheme until the season was canceled and she started adding up the face value of the tickets.

I love the Samueli's, too. They did a LOT for the employees of the Honda Center during this mess. My beef isn't with them, it's with the accountants who poorly explained what was going on and then "conveniently" deleted everyone's ticket invoice whe the sh!t started hitting the fan.

We sit on the Club level. Our ticket price per game based on our season ticket invoice is $127 per seat per game. (That price is never shown on the actual ticket.) When the season was cancelled and a refund issued, I was refunded $127 per seat per game (same as my invoice). In addition, an additional bonus dollar amount was issued (I believe $300). That was not the case with the St. Louis game (credit was lower based on variable pricing). THAT credit I had a problem with, but I'm satisfied with season ending credits.
