Just winding it all down and watching. Brutal

Brutal is the only word that describes it. No effort for the majority of the game and the lack of skill from the back end is horrible.

I don’t see how Blashill makes it to the end of the season with more games like this on the horizon. It’ll get worse band we’ll be lucky to win a couple more before the end of the year.

I'm sick of this team and their canned cliches, moral victories, excuses and pi$$ poor effort each game. The season can't end soon enough for me. No guts, determination, accountability or leadership. They're an absolute embarrassment. Handicap behind the bench.

They should be ashamed of themselves. Stealing money from the fans each time they play. It's disgraceful. Corey Schneider hadn't won a game all season FFS. They made him look like Marty Brodeur. At least put an effort in and give a $hit. Apparently that's too much to ask. They can't get the puck out of their own end to save their lives.

Yzerman keeps saying Blashill is doing a great job. Great job of running this team into the ground and being the laughingstock of the NHL. But hey we liked our Process. That's what's important. This team has no pride. They're pathetic!

I think we've clinched last overall. Can we not put an honest effort in and try to win some games? Is this too much to ask of these spoiled, entitled millionaires? They have a long off season coming up. A little hustle and energy would be nice. Body checking is legal. Not for the Red Wings though. Someone might break a nail!

He may make it because there’s not much season left. If Yzerman is really eyeing an assistant coach on Long Island, that won’t happen until a playoff exit. It sucks, though.

It is horrible. At one point I’m asking myself, “am I being too hard on this team”? And then Jack Hughes starts throwing his “weight” around. Good grief.

how cow! Bob would made the perfect closet cannibal. I can see Mort and Teddy and Mr Frond being perfect supporting characters in this world. Adult Swim really needs to talk to Loren Bouchard about making this spin off happen, like yesterday. Jimmy Pesto could be in on it ... man, possibilities

Once again we see the cheap shots and the other team taking liberties with our players. This team needs a bonafide enforcer... and given how terrible our bottom pairing defensemen are they should call up McIlrath to prevent this type of crap. Hayden and Subban would have both gotten their heads knocked off if Big Mac had been on the ice (he sticks up for his teammates).

"We need to move forward and get ready for the next game" That's it, Jeff. Keep saying that. When the season ends you'll be coaching your last game and Red Wings fans can look forward to seeing an actual NHL head coach behind the bench. You've stolen enough money from the Red Wings. You have a bright future being a ventriloquist with all your stupid goofy faces, canned cliches and rehearsed catch phrases. Get those Tony Robbins tapes ready! No more PROCESS! No more Doppelganger Babs!

The age of the enforcer is dead, man. And it deserved to die. Let it go.

Yeah, Loren pitched the original and was shot down. The pilot “Human Flesh” wasn’t originally a misunderstanding. Re watch and you can see how little tweaks steered the ship. So messed up

Yeah, I noticed Subban avoided Bowey, someone who could throttle him. If the last 17 games are a string of this team sticking up for itself, I could handle the losing a bit more

I’ll admit it, it’s become bad comedy. The players hate themselves and the coach just pushes on. It sucks for the guys who care

A pure enforcer, I agree. A cat who can shoot and scrap, bring him on. There has to be someone to still bring some respect back.

We have a guy who can "shoot and scrap." His name is Anthony Mantha. Every time he fights he breaks his hand.

Basically if you're good enough at hockey to make a difference for the team, you shouldn't be fighting. And if you aren't good enough at hockey to make a difference to the team, you shouldn't be playing at all.

- There's no evidence that fighting actually deters cheap shots or violence in the aggregate. There are no more cheap shot artists or intent-to-injure plays today then there were back in the 70s and 80s when fighting was rampant. In fact, I would argue the game is a lot cleaner in general. Fighting is also strictly banned in college and Euro leagues with seemingly no "lack of respect" problems relative to the NHL. As it turns out, when every team employs 3-4 players who have no real hockey skills and their only job is to go out and look for trouble ... you end up with a lot of trouble. Imagine that.

- Fighting does not have any meaningful impact on the outcome of the game. Fans like to talk about how a big fight at the right time changed the outcome of a game, a series, even a season. But detailed studies have shown that fighting does not affect the rate of goal scoring for the rest of the game, or give a measurable or consistent advantage to the home team, the trailing team, the team that won the fight, etc.

- Fighting causes irreparable physical and emotional harm to a large percentage of the people who fight. Considering what we now know about concussions, CTE, player suicides, etc., it's very hard at this point to condone its continued presence in the game.

Like most hockey fans I used to love a good scrap. I revered guys who could score AND fight like Shanahan. Fight Night at the Joe, Roy vs. Vernon, Roy vs. Osgood ... those moments were legendary. But the more I learned about what fighting does to the brain, and the more I understood how pointless it was as a deterrent or a tactic, the harder it became for me to justify or even enjoy it.

I'm not talking about a straight-up goon. I'm talking about a serviceable player (worthy of a roster spot) who can keep players honest and prevent our good players from getting hurt. Even though fighting is down... intimidation is still very much a part of the game. Otherwise, teams will keep taking liberties. Do we want to see our best players (read: Mantha, Bertuzzi, etc...) getting goaded into getting into fights and getting injured. Remember Zetterberg getting his head rammed into the boards by Weber in the playoffs ? I'm sick of seeing that crap and I don't like seeing our team get pushed around.

When Yzerman was in his prime he had the luxury of both Probert and Kocur to protect him. You simply did not see other players taking cheap shots at him. If you messed with The Captain you'd be paying a severe price for it. To say having tough teammates around you does not act act as a deterrence... I disagree.

I'm not a fan of seeing players getting injured either... but until fighting is removed from the game completely players will still have to protect each other.

It’s 2020. If your argument is based on probert and kocur you have no argument.
