I mean they did trade Hall for the slowest D in the league, so anything is possible. But this screams NO to me. Faulk is a UFA after this season. No chance he resigns in Edmonton. You would have to switch him with a player that would stay, contractually, such as Slavin/Hamilton. Lastly, Edmonton could very well be a lottery team, so their 1st should be untouchable.

Hamilton will cost them more than Pulju, Slavin doesn't seem to be for sale.
The Oilers are a mess and there fan base has to be fed up with "winning" the draft lottery. Trading that pick could send a message to the fans and the team that they are expecting to win.
They need good NHL players, don't agree that Faulk wouldn't be willing to resign with Edmonton--they do have McDavid afterall. Adding Bean to the fold should help take the sting out of losing a first (or if Faulk leaves as UFA).
